Terms of Service

1. Description of Service

Audilingua is a language learning platform that records audio from language classes and tutoring sessions, transcribes the audio, and generates AI-powered summaries. The Service includes desktop applications for recording, a web interface for viewing transcripts and summaries, and PDF export functionality.

2. Account Terms

To use the Service, you must create an account using a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Record conversations or classes without proper consent from all participants
• Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights
• Use the Service to record content unrelated to language learning
• Reverse engineer or extract the source code of the Service
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

4. Your Content & Generated Materials

You retain ownership of all content you provide, including audio recordings and student data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your recordings for transcription and summarization. Transcripts, summaries, and PDFs generated by the Service are yours to use, export, and modify without restriction. Generated content is created by AI and may contain errors—you are responsible for reviewing it before use.

5. Service Availability & Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without guarantees of availability, accuracy, or fitness for purpose. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data or damages from inaccurate transcriptions or summaries. You agree to indemnify us from claims arising from your use of the Service.

6. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. Upon deletion, all your data including recordings, transcripts, summaries, and student information will be permanently removed. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Any disputes arising from the use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Czech Republic.

Privacy Policy

8. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Account information (email address, password)
• Audio recordings from your language classes
• Student information (names, native language settings)

Information generated by the Service:

• Transcripts of your recordings
• AI-generated summaries, vocabulary lists, and grammar explanations

Information collected automatically:

• Session data for authentication
• Log data (IP address, browser type) for security

9. How We Use & Share Your Information

We use your information to operate the Service, authenticate you, process recordings, and generate transcripts and summaries. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate:

• Groq (Whisper API) for audio transcription
• Anthropic (Claude) for AI-powered summarization
• Sentry for error monitoring and crash reporting

We may also disclose information when required by law.

10. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on our servers with security measures including password hashing (bcrypt), secure sessions, and HTTPS encryption. Audio files, transcripts, and summaries are stored in your user directory and are not accessible to other users. No method of transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Rights

You can access your data through the Service, delete individual recordings or students, export summaries as PDFs, and delete your entire account. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our servers.

12. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies only for authentication. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics that track you across websites.

13. Changes & Contact
