Portuguese Cafe Ordering Dialogue and Practice
Situation Overview
You are at a cafe or bakery in a Portuguese-speaking place. You need to order coffee, ask about pastries or sandwiches, choose whether to drink it there or take it away, understand the price, and pay politely. The dialogue uses everyday service language. In Brazil, café often means a small black coffee, while café com leite is coffee with milk; in Portugal, you may hear bica for an espresso in Lisbon and galão for coffee with milk in a tall glass.

Grammar in Context
The natural dialogue uses two learner-friendly ordering forms: eu queria and vou levar. Eu queria um cappuccino pequeno sounds softer than eu quero and is common when ordering from staff. Vou levar um pão de queijo is especially useful when you are buying something to go.
Portuguese cafes also use pode ser to accept an option: Então pode ser com leite de aveia. Literally, it means it can be, but in this context it means that works or I'll have it with oat milk.
For price questions, use ficar: Quanto fica? and Fica dezoito reais. In this service context, fica means comes to.
